Sneaky-Peeky Sundays: Hollywood Under The Covers by Author Brandie Knight

I know I got late this time, but somehow, this Sunday turned out to be extremely loaded with work and other things, and I missed out writing about my Sunday book page. Since I don't feel it would be fair to pre-write this post and then share it on a pre-determined time and date, I always write this out on Sunday itself. This time missed it, trust you will not mind this time :)

As part of the Sneaky-Peeky Sunday initiative by The Book Worm, here's the page from the book 'Hollywood Under The Covers' by author Brandie Knight that I am reading right now. Since the book is meant for an adult audience and the content is quite explicit, I will faze out a few words that I found inappropriate to jot down here. As a personal request by the author who has warned this book as only for those who are 18+, I trust you will respect the same:

'"If you hide, you'll look guilty. Come back, face the charges and prove your innocence. I've been forced to cancel the rest of your tour. Get your a** back here."
After Jake hung up the phone, Marcus climbed out of bed and broke out a ten-year-old bourbon stash. He wasn't one to overindulge in alcohol, but he needed to calm his nerves.

His superstardom status had quickly dwindled into a rich pervert image that no one wanted to tolerate. The malicious lies were responsible for his downfall. The public believed Maria. She had kept her promise to destroy his career.

Nineteen hours later, Marcus arrived in Los Angeles. Maria had robbed him of his family heirlooms, cash and jewels. After he searched his home for missing possessions, the expected knock on the front door came and the police took Marcus into custody.

The morning after Marcus' arrest, Maria watched the news coverage. The media had worked to her advantage. The public believed the allegations that the media had conveniently reported.
The news cameras were reporting live outside the Beverly Hills Police Department where Marcus was being detained. A limo pulled up and Lacy Fox got out with a bodyguard at her side.
Maria watched the television, fuming that the midget tramp was there and being interviewed.
"How do you feel about Marcus Vaughn being arrested for child molestation?"
"Crimes towards children are very serious and shouldn't be taken lightly. Anyone who hurts a child deserves the maximum punishment. I don't believe Marcus is capable of such a crime."
"Are you saying he has been falsely accused?"
