The SuperMom CookBook By Madhuri Iyer: Get Your Free Copy Now! Giveaway

When it comes to books, there is no denying that I love reading books from different genres, and yes, being a mommy, a cookbook also makes it to the list! I know - ask any mom and she will tell you that a cookbook is probably one of the most important books she needs, whether or not she is a reader otherwise ;)

As a mommy, making my little one eat is one of the biggest and I literally mean BIGGEST challenges ever, especially because it is not like those new baby or toddler year challenges that I know shall pass off in a year or two..

Making your child eat healthy, ensuring she will eat healthy and coming up with new, healthy, delicious, interesting, easy, visually appealing, sneaked in un-favoured ingredients and ensuring the ingredients are actually available in your local area can be a daunting experience, one that can go on and on for years!!!

My older one is going to be 8 next month, but ask me about my struggles of making her eat...she DOES NOT !!!! And its something I know that almost all moms face.

So when the PR team of The SuperMom COOKBOOK by Madhuri Iyer approached me to know if I would be interested in checking out the book, the answer was a strong and excited YES! What mom would not want a cookbook that can actually be made use of at home with ingredients you can easily get in an Indian kitchen?

The team was sweet enough to send me FOUR extra copies for giveaway, so that means I will be sharing the yummy goodness with four other lovely mommies out there :)

About The Book

What I loved about the cookbook is that it introduces traditional recipes for kids from all over India. So, it has something from Maharashtra, as well as something from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Bengal, Rajasthan, the Parsi community and more...it is truly a unique mix of cuisines meant for kids that I have not found in other cookbooks for kids yet.

The book is divided into the following categories:

  1. Chutneys, dips, spreads and sauces
  2. Salads
  3. Sunday special shortcut curries
  4. Healthy junk food
  5. Kids r cooking
  6. International one-dish meal
  7. Family lunchbox
As you can see, it has a mix of recipes that will not just be perfect for your kids but also for the entire family, and the best part is that you can directly involve your kids in the cooking process too, of course under proper adult supervision.

The book also comes with additional helpful sections like healthy kitchen essentials that talk about the various grains and other ingredients you can keep readily available in your kitchen, complete with their English as well as Hindi names, a weekly meal planner, a quick note on the shelf life of recipes that you may store in the fridge for later consumption, quick variation ideas for recipes and more!

The cookbook is available online HERE for INR 349.

Here's a quick snippet on the author:

The SuperMom Cookbook takes Madhuri’s creativity into an exciting new space – the kitchen! Her cooking skills of 30 years come handy to rustle up wholesome meals for kids. Using sneak and tweak cooking techniques, kiddie junk food favourites like burgers, pasta, pizza, bhel, and noodles are transformed into delicious, healthy, balanced meals! Sneaking in the nutrition, (kids will never know!) and tweaking the unhealthy stuff is what SuperMom cooking is all about. Once you acquire the SuperMom mojo, the world is your oyster. Amaze your family with wholesome food from different regions of India, and indeed, from different parts of the globe. Older kids can even participate in the kitchen and create their own favourites.

I loved the fact that the recipes are so varied as instant made to order mutton cheese hamburgers (a very healthy version though!), three colored cheese n mac (again a very healthy version), delicious hummus dips, pizzas, soups, noodles and stews - all made super delicious, super healthy and so easy to cook!

As a mom, I will surely give the book a thumbs up and I definitely recommend you check it out.
